SANJOSE will build the Headquarters of the Provincial Historical Archive of Castellón

The Gerencia de Infraestructuras y Equipamientos de Cultura has awarded SANJOSE Constructora the execution works of the new Headquarters of the Provincial Historical Archive of Castellón (AHPC) and Cultural Centre.

The project will occupy an existing building currently unused that was built in 1982 by the architect Miguel Prades Safont as part of the old Campus of the University of Castellón, which also included the buildings that currently occupy the CEIP Vicent Marcà and the Official School of Languages.

After the renovation, the new AHPC will have a useful interior area of approximately 6,000 square meters and will have a built surface of more than 7,000 square meters arranged on the ground floor, four floors above ground and a technical floor on the roof.

The programme of needs developed by the project aims to adapt to the model of an archive of the XXI century, as a public and social centre of local and global scope, active, promoter and dynamizer, in accordance with the new times of the digitalized and networked society, capable of to adapt to the contemporary demands of citizens for information, culture and leisure, in addition to safeguarding and disseminating the documentary heritage that it guards and preserves.
